We are always delighted to hear from anyone who is interested in singing with us, or in just finding out more about the Society. If you have ever thought about devoting one evening a week to making music as part of a big choir, RTWCS could be just the thing for you.
We normally rehearse in St John’s Church Hall, Tunbridge Wells, each Monday in school term times between 7:30pm and 9:30pm. We usually arrange four concerts a year – in the Spring, the Autumn, an informal Christmas concert in December, and a summer concert in June or July.
For details of all these, and of other events, please see our Concerts page. If you would like information about joining RTWCS or if you have any other query, please complete the application form, and a committee member will contact you as soon as possible. We do not normally audition prospective members.
Please note that the annual subscription (2016/17) is £135, although a reduced rate is available for members under the age of 25 and, at the discretion of the treasurer, for members who otherwise could not afford to take part.
For those works requiring a large number of singers, we sometimes invite members of other local choirs to join us temporarily. In these circumstances, we usually waive the membership fee, but ask for a nominal £10 per concert. If you do wish to join us temporarily please contact our registrar or fill in the membership application form, stating (in the “other information” field) that you wish to join temporarily for a specific concert, and quoting the choir which you are already a member of.
This section of the website also maintains a notice board for current members, including information about rehearsals, “Section Leaders” and links to other musical organistations in the locality not organised by RTWCS but likely to be of interest to members.
