The Choir

The choir comprises about 120 singers, male and female. The choir "season" starts in September, and each year we usually perform two major concerts, one in November and one in April which are held at the Assembly Hall in Tunbridge Wells. In addition we often arrange a less formal "summer sing" around June, and/or a Christmas carol concert at a local church in December. Details of forthcoming concerts can be found on the Concerts page, while reviews of past performances and programmes can be viewed via our Reviews page.

The organisation and managment of the choir (which is a charity) is enshrined in our Constitution.

Rehearsals are normally held in St John's Hall, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 9LG every Monday, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in season. They are conducted by our Director of Music Richard Jenkinson and aided by our very able accompanist, Anthony Zerpa-Falcon. There are normally about 12 rehearsals for each concert, and plenty of opportunity to learn notes! There is an annual subscription for members, currently £90 per season.

After rehearsals, there are opportunities to socialise at a local drinking establishment. In December, we have an Annual Dinner and at the end of each season, the choir usually holds an informal party.

Supporting the choir

We are always grateful for any support the choir receives. If you wish to support the Society, why not become a patron? Also, if anyone is in a position to initiate sponsorship of any of our concerts, in whole or part, the Society would be very grateful. Help such as this does make a difference to our concert budgeting and our choice of repertoire and is greatly valued.

Music Library

The choir also has a large library of music which is available for hire. To find out more, details are available here.

Charity Registration

The Choir is a registered charity, the constitution of which can be read here. Details of our Charity Registration (no. 273310) can be viewed here.
